Thursday. AM – Swimming done at PAP, enjoying it again in the water and the 3rd session a week on the Thursday mornings are proving very helpful. 2.8k in total that included sets of 500 and 400 reps
P.M
With Reg Bartley still under repair we were forced to use #2 Oval at Rushcutters for the session as a strong team were out that included Tommy H, and HuRTs top ladies Erika Ekland, Greta and #1 Renee.
Marked out a double lap course for the 1k reps that were on offer and C.T was flying out the front as early as the first rep. Pretty happy with my first coming in on 3.18 but with no speed work for over 3 weeks that unfortunately was as good as it got, Came in with Tommy H and Brucie Lambert on the second in 3.21 and was blowing very hard and by the time the 3rd was coming around I was done. Battled then to stay ahead of Greta and Erika on the 4th decided then to stop the agony any further.
Sat out the 5th rep having a chat with Sammy ‘the Salmon’ Johnson and then came back in for the last one albeit very slow and collecting the cones on the second lap.
Times were. 3.18, 3.21, 3.26, 3.29,
Glute felt fine but a lot of hard work ahead
Friday. Into town at the A.B.C Pool and smaller team with no Coach Walker, The Champ, Leech, Angus and even Crossy Lad was a NO SHOW despite it being 29 degrees. Still B1 & B2 were there (Brendan Wong & Krone) and Gleeso made a rare appearance although him and Liam (who I’ve never seen do a full set in 5 years) were only there to top up the tan and basically did bugger all.
Kroney led the 400m out and kicked it off with a 6.20, then Wongy, Kroney and myself all took turns to do a 200 rep whilst Manly Steve with weights around his feet dragged up through.
Times were pretty quick and poor Wongy was cursing himself that he gave up his Yum Cha reservation and was blowing very hard.
1 x 400m 6.20
5 x 200m 3.03, 3.06, 3.09, 3.00, 3.02
5 x 100m 1.26, 1.26, 1.28, 1.29, 1.28
2.2ks for the day.
Back into the city in the evening to farewell HuRTS fastest man and good guy Stevie ‘Wildman’ Thurston. Typical good evening attended by all the favourites including Taffy, Richie Mullaney (another blog reader it seems? ), Jeet, Birchy, ‘Killer’ Killacoat, Kanser, Tommy H, and the Italian Stallion Durante had a leave pass and was back to team up with his ‘Perpetual partner for one final blast.
Got in around 5ish and already Stevie T was well merry after starting some 4 hours earlier. All was going well and chatting away with Kanser who seems to have found some form and was TRASH talking that he will smash me come J.P Morgan as the beers started to flow. Knew it was starting to get messy when the ‘Shot’s were ordered and it all went downhill after that. Birchy thought he got himself a new Susan Boyle for the evening only for Killer to ‘grass cut him, The Pest’s were on fire, Tommy H’s dancing got worse as he was throwing shapes on the dance floor – all the while Taffy was missing in action for 25 minutes, deciding to take himself to Hebert next door for a haircut .....W.T.F is that about ?
Tom’s dancing was that poor, the bouncer could stand it no more and then asked him to vacate the premises for the evening.
Top evening, work was a battle at 6am the next morning mind you.
Saturday, teamed up with Pommy Birch and ‘Corky O’Connor for a day at the races. Stunning day had in the 30 degree heat even if I could only find ONE winner all day.
Big weekend planned as holiday on the Monday this week, will venture out again on Sunday although I’m not a big fan of the League I will probably watch it somewhere. In the Premiership, there is no finer place to visit then Villa park when you need to kick start your season. And this is where you can find Timmy’s Best bet this week when Stoke will give the Villains’ a shoeing (Enda and Rich Mullaney best turn the phones to OFF when they do) Biggest certainty of the week this one.
Aston Villa 0 v Stoke 1.
A few pics from the social pages.
The Taffy and The Italian Stallion Durante - both went out and got a haircut during drinking time, i've never seen anything like it in my life.
Brendan, Corky O'Connor, Birchy and I at the Belverdere Vodka tent ..... only problem is they dont have Vodka, so had to settle for a Martini
Now Tommy H has taken to putting up the tipping table of late, but with Young son Charlie on holidays he hasn't been doing so the past two weeks,
Thought i'd post this week, had to take TWO snapshots as i couldn't get Tom or Enda on the first page. Terrible tipping from the pair, Need not worry Charlie is back at school this week so he will start making the selections again for next week.
Mmmmmm notice top spot though ???
Cheers
Love your work Timmy. Jeet was wondering where you were Sunday morning. But then said you were in the pub Saturday night. I said probably in the pub at 6am crying over England losing.
