If yesterday was the worst I’ve felt in a long time then today’s run with the BRAT/Hardmen was in stark contrast as I felt the best I have in ages. Caught up with Hardman himself J.C, Enda, Angry Boy Clyde and the guy who still holds the Centennial Park record for consuming most High 5 Gels on a training run Damon Bray (16 gels for 24ks of running)
Another hot and sticky morning but all of a sudden I was running easy and when I looked at the watch it said we were on 4.20 pace and that was including the hill. Enda departed at the end of the first loop still carrying on like a pork chop about the Biathlon Handicap for tomorrow and trying to tell everyone YET again that he hasn’t trained in weeks to go with it.
Was forced then to do the 2nd 6k loop solo after J.C pulled the pin early and Angry Boy didn’t even see out the first 3ks (?) leaving before we got to Randwick Gates. Still feeling good so picked the pace up further and managed to hold it for the entire loop, only losing a little going up the hill around the 4k mark of the 6.
Lap times 25.44 ( Ave 4.20) and 24.28 ( ave 4.04s)
50.13 All up for the 12ks average pace 4.12s
Let’s hope I feel that good for tomorrows 4ks run in the biathlon J
